  • She has received numerous awards including a Laurence Olivier Award and nominations for three BAFTA Awards, and four Tony Awards.
  • Her films include Wilde, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Madam Hooch), and My Week with Marilyn
  • On TV she played Susan Harper in the sitcom My Family. She’s also been in Mr Selfridge, and Girlfriends.
  • She received a CBE in the 2001 Honours for her services to drama.
  • She is a Patron of the UK charity Tree Aid
  • She is one of nine presidents of The Young People’s Trust for the Environment
