- Born Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr on 18 August 1983
- He is a singer-songwriter born in Beirut, Lebanon, and raised in Paris and London.
- He has sold over 20 million records worldwide, including five studio albums, four live albums, two compilation albums, nine extended plays, thirty-six singles,
- He started making music as a youngster, and he wrote his first song aged just seven.
- He studied as a boy soprano with the Royal Opera in London
- While still young, he also worked singing jingles for a variety of companies, including Orbit chewing gum and British Airways
- He went to the Royal College of Music and practised his scales by day and by night, he visited the rock and electro clubs of Soho and Camden, and wrote pop songs
- He released his debut album Life in Cartoon Motion in 2007, which sold more than 8.3 million copies worldwide and helped him win a Brit Award—Best British Breakthrough act.
- In 2019 he performed on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris as part of its 130th anniversary celebration
- He starred for two seasons in his own television variety show in Italy
- In 2022, he co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest and performed as part of the interval act at the grand final
- Ha has also been a designer on various projects, including sunglasses for the Italian eyewear company Lozza, a clothing line for Belgian retailer JBC and pens for the 100th anniversary of Pilot
- He topped the UK Singles Chart in January 2007 with “Grace Kelly”
- He participated in “Children in Need Rocks”, a charity event organised by singer Gary Barlow and held at London’s Royal Albert Hall
